Wear Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Oct 2020

On Fridays in October… Mustangs Wear Pink! Rogers Student Council invites all Rogers students and staff to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

RRW Special Dress Days Oct 26-30 2020Red Ribbon Week NEXT WEEK Monday 10/26-Friday 10/30 Next week is Red Ribbon Week, the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention awareness program. Student Council has designated special dress days for the entire week as follows:

Mon. 10/26 | Crazy Hair Day
Tues. 10/27 |Tacky Tourist Day
Wed. 10/28 | Decades Day
Thurs. 10/29 | Disney Day
Fri. 10/30 | Halloween (wear your costumes!)

For more information on each of the special dress days and for sending in photos of your outfits for yearbook consideration – especially your Halloween costumes! – remember to watch the “MMMM” (Monday Morning Mustang Message) from earlier this week.

reflections flier new deadline 10-16-2020PTA Reflections DUE TODAY FRIDAY 10/16!  All students are welcome to participate! PTA offers this annual contest to all students interested in creating and competing at the school level, which can lead to other opportunities at the Council, State, and even National levels!

LBUSD Meal Service Changes To improve services and support the needs of families, the Long Beach Unified School District will make changes to its meal distribution effective this Monday, 10/19. Students and parents/guardians will pick up two days’ worth of meals on alternate days instead of making the daily trips:

  • Monday’s pick-up includes meals for Monday and Tuesday.
  • Wednesday’s pick up is for Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Friday and Saturday’s meals are available for pick-up on Friday.

Please Note: Rogers remains a designated meal site. For more information, please go to the LBUSD website. 

Rogers Teachers’ Training Day Wednesday 10/21 Another Teachers’ Training Day is coming up next week. Please keep an eye on school communications, school website, and the student bulletin for more details and updates.

Reflections Art Entries Due Friday October 16

Attention Rogers artists! We are less than two weeks away from the Reflections Art Contest entry deadline!

All interested students should view and complete the application that explains how to submit your themed “I Matter Because…” creative work to Mrs. Clare at maclare@lbschools.net no later than Friday, October 16.
