COMING UP THIS TUESDAY! Rogers PTA General Association Meeting and Election The next Rogers PTA Meeting will be held THIS TUESDAY, March 16th at 9:15 a.m. via ZOOM. Please note this is the annual ELECTION MEETING, where all are welcome and members are invited to attend and vote for Board Members for the 2021-2022 school year. More details below on positions available and how to submit an interest form for position(s) on the Board for election eligibility.
***All Board interest forms DUE TODAY FRIDAY MARCH 12th.***

Rogers PTA Board Is Looking for Board Member Volunteers for the 21-22 School Year! Coming up at the General Association meeting  THIS TUESDAY, MARCH 16th, Rogers PTA will be holding its annual election for Board members for the 21-22 school year. Please note that per by-laws, in order to participate as a PTA Board member and/or to vote, you will need to join PTA as a member (only $10 online here – more info below also!). If you are interested in a Board position (full list of officers here), please download and complete a Board Interest form and email to: rogersmiddleschoolpta@gmail.com  (subject “PTA Board 21-22”).
NOTE: Forms are DUE TODAY, FRIDAY 3/12.

REMINDER Please also note PTA is still seeking volunteers for open positions for this current year. PTA currently has two Board positions available, VP Ways and Means (Fundraising) and Community Outreach Director (handles Appian Way banner sales and other business partnership opportunities, one of our flagship fundraising programs annually). Uniforms Committee Chairperson (sweatshirts and PE uniforms) is also needed. These positions are open and ready NOW for people who are wanting to jump right in and get involved with Rogers PTA! More information on these positions can be found at our Board web page and our Volunteers-Committees page. PTA Membership Drive UPDATE Online membership is always open and available at TOTEM, a new way this year to get your memberships in a contact-free, safe, convenient, and fast transaction! Please help Rogers PTA meet its 1:1 annual goal for memberships: One membership per student. To date (March 12, 2021), we are just at around 25 percent of our usual registration (250 memberships; goal is 900).

ROGERS STUDENTS, TEACHERS, AND OUR SCHOOL NEED YOUR SUPPORT! Memberships are just $10 (plus $1 processing per membership) and are open to all parents, students, teachers, staff, grandparents, extended family, community members, local business owners, alums, neighbors, and anyone who wants to support Rogers! SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS FOR 2ND SEMESTER 2021 Parents should have received a letter from LBUSD (Letter to MS/K8 Parents) prior to Winter Break with upcoming Middle School schedule adjustments as an effort to help reduce screen time for our students, and Principal Wood also re-sent the letter along with additional follow-up in an email to all parents dated 1/2/2021. REMINDER: Each Wednesday and Thursday during 2nd Semester will be minimum days (next Min. Days scheduled for Wed.-Thurs. 3/17 and 3/18, dismissal 2:18 p.m.). More information may be found in district and school communications regarding any schedule changes or adjustments.

Rogers Dining for Dollars Hiatus & Highlights | UPDATED FOR MARCH While Rogers PTA has suspended its Dining for Dollars partnership fundraising program at this time, PTA would still would like to help spread the word about local business and community by featuring a business who has partnered with us in the past! Watch this space each issue of PTA news for this month’s highlighted partner. For March, we would like to feature Wahoo Fish Taco (Long Beach Marketplace location). Thank you to Wahoo’s for being such a loyal Rogers PTA partner!
