Hello Mustangs! We hope everyone had a wonderful week!

Hope you are ready for… WINTER BREAK… which begins with today’s Minimum Day 2:18 p.m. dismissal! Winter Break is from Monday December 20th through Friday December 31st, with classes resuming on Monday January 3, 2022. Have a good time celebrating with family and friends, resting, and recharging, and we will see you in 2022!

ROGERS RESCUE MISSION and GIVING TREE DONATION DRIVES Rogers PTA thanks everyone who stepped up to give to our donation drives this holiday season! All donations of gift cards and goods collected will help to make a difference both within our Rogers Community directly and across greater Long Beach through a wide swath of organizations and outreach programs. PTA also extends a very special thanks to our Student Council and Rogers front office staff for helping to support and organize these efforts.

PTA General Association Meeting Tuesday 1/18/2022 Please plan to attend the next Rogers General Association PTA Meeting on Tuesday January 18th at 6 p.m. (Location TBD). At this meeting PTA will discuss upcoming family events and other student activities, such as Lunch on the Lawn (parent-student lunches) and the Mustang Drive.While EVERYONE is welcome and invited to attend this meeting, please note that only active 2021-22 Rogers PTA members are eligible to vote. Join Rogers PTA now to be eligible to vote at the January meeting.

Please also note that the January meeting is when PTA membership selects its Nomination Committee, which is formed to identify a slate of eligible PTA Board Candidates for the 2022-23 school year. Elections for next year’s Board are held at the March 2022 meeting. We hope we can count on your support, voice and vote to help with these efforts!

ROGERS RESCUE MISSION 2021 -AND- GIVING TREE GIFT CARD DONATIONS DUE NEXT WEEK WED. DECEMBER 15TH! Tis the season for… GIVING BACK! Rogers Middle School returns this holiday season with its annual holiday donation drive efforts, offering a wide variety of options for our generous families to choose from and a range of organizations to support, all the way down to keeping donations hyper-local right within our own Rogers community!

The Rogers Giving Tree Gift Card Drive is accepting donations of gift cards in any amount to the front office from 11/15 through 12/8 2021. Gift cards for gas, groceries, "big box" stores, and fast-food and fast-casual chain restaurants are all good options for this donation drive. Gift cards may be left at the front office of the school during regular hours of operation (students may drop before school).EXTENDED! GIFT CARD DONATIONS DUE TO THE OFFICE BY NEXT WEDNESDAY 12/15! The Rogers front office staff has EXTENDED THE DEADLINE for the Rogers Giving Tree this holiday season! This is a gift card donation drive and is a program that supports families right here within our own Rogers school community. Gift cards such as ones for grocery stores, “big box” stores (like Walmart, Target, etc.), fast-food or fast-casual chain restaurants, and gas are requested in any amount that you are able to donate ($5 and up). The Rogers Giving Tree is accepting all gift card donation drop-offs from families at the front office anytime during school hours (students may come by the office before school to drop-off) NOW through NEXT WEEK, WEDNESDAY 12/15.

Rogers Rescue Mission 2021 is supporting a wide variety of organizations this holiday season from Nov. 29th to Dec. 15th.This season, the Rogers Rescue Mission under the partnership of Rogers PTA and Rogers Student Council/ASB will be supporting Food Finders, New Life Beginnings, and the shower program at St. Luke’s. Please refer to the image posted above for a full wish-list of items in need by each program. These donations may be dropped off by students in the ASB room off Mustang Park before school or to the main entrance or brought to the office as soon as possible during school hours. The Rogers Rescue Mission is accepting all listed donation items NOW through the final drop-off date NEXT WEEK no later than Wednesday 12/15.

Rogers PTA is here this holiday season to help support Rogers Student Council and the office staff with these donation drive efforts.
