Please note that only current Rogers VIPS will be able to help with on campus school day events. For this reason, it is important for those interested to start the application process as soon as possible as VIPS applications may take several weeks to process and finalize. ***8th Grade Committee Update! The end-of-year celebration for all Rogers 8th Graders is scheduled for Tuesday, June 14th from 6-9 p.m. at CSULB. Specific areas in need of volunteers are as follows: Food & drinks; Candy Bar; Photo Booth; Decorations; Entertainment (DJ/other); and Advertising/Social Media. The next meeting is anticipated for early March. Home COVID tests are scheduled to be sent home TODAY with all students ASAP to assist you with monitoring your student’s symptoms and overall health status. Additionally, if your student needs a COVID-19 test witnessed or from a lab, a reminder that LBUSD opened its student- and employee-only dedicated testing site at Cabrillo HS this month for both PCR and Antigen testing – go here for all details!

Dining for Dollars UPDATES Big thanks to all those who attended last night’s January event at CPK at the LB Marketplace! Rogers PTA also wants to give a shout out to George’s Greek Cafe, who sponsored the December event, and to those who attended and supported the event, which generated a generous donation of $200 toward student and school programming and events! Finally, looking ahead, next up on the Dining for Dollars calendar is Chipotle, which will be on Wednesday March 2nd. Watch this space for more details as the date approaches! PTA General Association Meeting THIS TUESDAY 1/18/2022 at 6 p.m. via ZOOM Please plan to attend the Rogers General Association PTA Meeting NEXT WEEK via ZOOM (link to come via school communications to all families – or feel free to email and request the link at rogersmiddleschoolpta@gmail.com).

At this meeting, PTA membership will be selecting its Nomination Committee, which is formed to identify a slate of eligible PTA Board Candidates for the 2022-23 school year. Elections for next year’s Board are held at the March 2022 meeting. It is important that we have a quorum at this meeting to form this very important selection committee to ensure the future of Rogers PTA for our students, staff, and families, so please plan to attend, consider joining this very important committee, consider joining the PTA Board for next year (list of positions and descriptions with interest form here), and share the meeting link with a friend or two!

Also at this meeting, PTA will discuss upcoming family events and other activities “for the kids” such as the Mustang Drive scheduled for later this year. Additionally, Principal Wood is scheduled to address membership at this month’s meeting. We do hope you can come to learn more about what is happening at Rogers!

We hope we can count on your support, voice, and vote to help with these efforts! Out of respect for everyone’s time, PTA is going to start the meeting right at 6 p.m. and make it a goal to keep the scheduled agenda to one-hour. Thank you for your understanding.
