Reflections Art Entries Due Friday October 16

Attention Rogers artists! We are less than two weeks away from the Reflections Art Contest entry deadline!

All interested students should view and complete the application that explains how to submit your themed “I Matter Because…” creative work to Mrs. Clare at maclare@lbschools.net no later than Friday, October 16.

WANTED: PTA Board Members and Chairperson PTA currently has two Board positions available, VP Ways and Means (Fundraising) and Community Outreach Director (handles Appian Way banner sales and other business partnership opportunities). Uniforms Committee Chairperson (sweatshirts and PE uniforms) is also needed. These positions are open and ready NOW for people who are wanting to jump right in and get involved with Rogers PTA! PTA General Association Meeting Thank you to everyone who attended the PTA meeting earlier this week. With your attendance we were able to ratify our budget for the 20-21 SY! Our next General Association meeting is scheduled for Tues. 11/17 (time TBD). Please keep an eye on PTA and school communications for more information as the date approaches.

Rogers Dining for Dollars Hiatus & Highlights While Rogers PTA has suspended its Dining for Dollars partnership fundraising program at this time, PTA would still would like to help spread the word about local business and community by featuring a business who has partnered with us in the past! Watch this space each issue of PTA news for this month’s highlighted partner. For October, we would like to feature George’s Greek Cafe (2nd Street). Thank you to George’s Greek Cafe for always being such a loyal Rogers PTA partner!

Rogers Middle School Back To School Night THIS WEDNESDAY 9/30, 6-7:30 p.m. BTS Night is going online this year, and all parents and guardians are invited! Stay tuned for additional information on how to connect with Rogers teachers for this virtual Back-to-School Night event. Please also note that all students will be on a minimum day schedule this day.

Rogers Sweatshirt Sales at the Auditorium NEXT WEEK Thurs. 9/24, 8:30-11 a.m. If you missed out Rogers Sweatshirts at TCB, don’t worry, we have more! PTA will be on campus at the auditorium doors next week for a second-chance opportunity! One style (pull-over hoody), sizes YL-YXL and adult S-XL available while supplies last – only $30 each, cash, check (made out to “Naples PTA”), and card all accepted. Once logged on, select the student, go to “Class Schedule,” click on the arrow on “Today,” and select “Semester 1” to view class assignments. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic affecting our community and beyond, please note that it was announced 4/1/2020 that LBUSD school sites are scheduled to remain closed to students and staff through the 19-20 school year. Go here for more official details from LBUSD on these site closures.

As we are entering summer recess, Rogers PTA strongly encourages Rogers’ families to follow the LBUSD and school site resource website and social media links as posted below to ensure that everyone gets the information that they need in a timely manner to navigate through the challenges facing us at this time.
