Friday 8 December
Today, Friday the 8th, was the Day of Awesomeness, our school-wide celebration of the our Fall fundraising efforts. Students danced to the music of Step it Up’s DJ, played human foosball, tossed soft rockets in dodgeball, rolled around in the human hamster run, and Hula-hooped to the tunes of Taylor Swift and Rhianna. It’s all a celebration of the school’s stellar fundraising – an effort that raised more than $70k to help pay for all the things PTA funds at the school.
And because we met our goal, the entire school gets treated to a BMX show early next year. At that celebration, students who qualified will get a chance to soak their favorite teacher at our splash tank.
Every one’s favorite Christmas movie – at least a favorite for anyone under 21 – is the Will Farrell movie “Elf”. On Friday December 15th – our penultimate Friday before break, we’ll have Tacos for purchase starting at 6:30. Movie to start at 7:00. Movie will end at 8:45.
Have a hankering for some hummus? Crazy for Kabbobs, or flaming Saganaki? Trot on down to local favorite George’s Greek Restaurant on 2nd street in Belmont shore on Wednesday 13 December for some authentic and appetizing Greek Food. And be sure to say “Γειά σου” (Hello) to owner and Rogers’ student mom Nicki. And here’s an awesome extra – George’s will deliver food for free for local orders
The last field Day of the calendar year is this Friday, December 15th at 1:45p. Anyone interested in donating goodies or volunteering can do so here.
