Rogers PTA wishes all of our families and students a GREAT Thanksgiving Break, starting with Minimum Day 2:18 p.m. dismissal today… whether spent with family, friends, and/or on travels, we hope you get a well-deserved rest! And just in case you need this friendly reminder… NO SCHOOL Monday 11/22 through Friday 11/26 (classes resume Monday 11/29).

ROGERS RESCUE MISSION 2021 Tis the season for… GIVING BACK! Rogers Middle School returns this holiday season with its annual holiday donation drive efforts, offering a wide variety of options for our generous families to choose from and a range of organizations to support, all the way down to keeping donations hyper-local right within our own Rogers community!Rogers Rescue Mission 2021 is supporting a wide variety of organizations this holiday season from Nov. 29th to Dec. 15th.This season, the Rogers Rescue Mission under the partnership of Rogers PTA and Rogers Student Council/ASB will be supporting Food Finders, New Life Beginnings, and the shower program at St. Luke’s. Please refer to the image posted above for a full wish-list of items in need by each program. These donations may be dropped off by students in the ASB room off Mustang Park before school. The Rogers Rescue Mission is accepting all listed donation items from Monday 11/29 through the final drop-off date of Wednesday 12/15.

The Rogers Giving Tree Gift Card Drive is accepting donations of gift cards in any amount to the front office from 11/15 through 12/8 2021. Gift cards for gas, groceries, "big box" stores, and fast-food and fast-casual chain restaurants are all good options for this donation drive. Gift cards may be left at the front office of the school during regular hours of operation (students may drop before school).The Rogers front office staff also has brought back the Rogers Giving Tree this holiday season! This is a gift card donation drive and is a program that supports families right here within our own Rogers school communityGift cards to grocery stores, “big box” stores (like Walmart, Target, etc.), fast-food or fast-casual chain restaurants, and gas cards are requested in any amount that you are able to donate ($5 and up). The Rogers Giving Tree is accepting gift card donation drop-offs from families at the front office anytime during school hours (students may come by the office before school to drop-off) NOW through Wednesday 12/8 (no school 11/22-26).

Rogers PTA is here this holiday season to help support Rogers Student Council and our front office staff with these donation drive efforts. INCENTIVE UPDATES Last week, Principal Wood conducted the final raffles to determine the recipients of the various individual incentives PTA offered during this year’s Membership Drive. He then announced the names in a special end-of-day audio broadcast to all students last Friday 11/5. This included the announcement of the class party recipient for highest participation percentage. A BIG Congratulations to Mr. Hamilton’s 1st Period class on receiving this recognition with a class participation level of 114 percent… more memberships returned than students in the class!

PTA is back this week with more updates that hopefully help you to prepare for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Remember the First Day of School is NEXT WEEK, TUESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2021!

As mentioned at TCB, PTA is able to offer a few incentives for joining PTA during our Membership Drive this year!

JOIN PTA BY OCTOBER 30, 2021 and Receive Great Incentives!

  • Any student who joins Rogers PTA or returns any PTA membership(s) will receive one (1) entry into a dedicated opportunity drawing for a $50 gift card to a major retailer (Amazon, Target etc. – more info coming soon!). One entry limit per student
  • Any student who joins/returns (4) or more memberships will receive one (1) entry into a dedicated opportunity drawing for a “front of the line” pass good for the cafeteria lunch lines daily AND all Rogers student activity days for the entire 2021-2022 school year! One entry limit per student
  • Any 8th Grade student who joins Rogers PTA or returns any PTA membership(s), will receive one (1) entry into a dedicated opportunity drawing for four (4) reserved front row seats at 8th Grade Promotion. One entry limit per student

Our goal for membership is one membership per student. Rogers currently has an enrollment of around 850 students. The count as of August 26th after TCB shows that Rogers PTA has enrolled 283 total members! This includes 85 online members via TOTEM, PTA’s online membership portal. We are currently at about 1/3 of our goal. We are doing great – in fact, we have already surpassed our 2020-21 membership count! – but we have some more work to do!

Please remember that memberships must be renewed each year while at Rogers. Memberships are $10/member (new or renewal). Donations to Rogers PTA are also accepted throughout the year.

PTA appreciates your help in making Rogers a welcoming place to be! 🙂

PTA is back this week with some info that hopefully helps you to better prepare for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Remember the First Day of School is TUESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2021! 


This is the logo for Rogers Middle School Long Beach CA LBUSDTaking Care of Business (TCB) Days August 24-26 Rogers will be hosting three “Taking Care of Business” (TCB) Days for all returning and new/incoming students. These events are where all students are welcomed onto campus and are able to complete specific “housekeeping” tasks in preparation for the first day of school, such as taking their ID photo (which is also Fall Picture Day, provided by Lifetouch; see separate email from Lifetouch with more details on ordering photos), picking up books, purchase spirit wear, and much more!

Thursday, August 26           6th Grade (includes WEB Welcome)

Uniform Guidelines for 2021-2022 PTA is here with a heads-up regarding Rogers Uniform Guidelines. Below are the guidelines that will be provided and further detailed by Principal Wood in school communications and on the official school website by sometime next week.

TOPS: Solid white collared shirt with sleeves; Rogers Spirit shirt. Sheer lace, see-through blouses, bare midriffs or low necklines are not permitted.
⮚ BOTTOMS: Solid black shorts, pants, jumpers, or skirts. Pants may be no more than two inches larger than the student’s waistline (no sagging). Shorts, jumpers, skirts, and skorts are to be an appropriate length, not to be shorter than mid-thighNo sweat pants or nylon athletic shorts may be worn. No tears, holes, patches or ragged hems in clothes are permitted.
⮚ OUTERWEAR: Solid Rogers-red sweatshirts or sweaters may be worn over the collared or spirit shirt. A heavy coat that is not red may be worn outside when it is excessively cold or raining.
⮚ LOGO POLICY: All clothing must be logo free, except for the Rogers logo.
⮚ UNDER SHIRTS: Shirts worn under the collared shirt must be white.
Other Misc. Items:
Hats and other head coverings are not allowed.
⮚ Belts should not have initial buckles, studs, or wallet chains. Overalls or suspenders may not be worn.
⮚ Shoes must be appropriate for school activities with heels not to exceed 2 inches. No slippers, house shoes, slip-on or open-toed shoes are permitted.
