Home COVID tests are scheduled to be sent home TODAY with all students ASAP to assist you with monitoring your student’s symptoms and overall health status. Additionally, if your student needs a COVID-19 test witnessed or from a lab, a reminder that LBUSD opened its student- and employee-only dedicated testing site at Cabrillo HS this month for both PCR and Antigen testing – go here for all details!

PTA Elections Scheduled for March 22nd | Board Positions Available for 2022-23 Thanks to everyone who attended the January PTA meeting earlier this week! We had a GREAT turnout and because of you we were able to select our Nominating Committee, which is formed to identify a slate of eligible PTA Board Candidates for the 2022-23 school year.

MEETING AND ELECTIONS NOTICE | Elections for next year’s Board will be scheduled for the next General Association meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd.

***8th Grade Committee Update! Plans have started and are on track for a end of the year celebration at CSULB on Tuesday, June 14th from 6-9 p.m. Specific areas in need of help are as follows: Food & drinks; Candy Bar; Photo Booth; Decorations; Entertainment (DJ, other); and Advertising/Social Media. The next meeting is anticipated for early March. Any 8th Grade parent or guardian interested in helping in one or more of these areas or attending the next meeting to hear what is being planned should please email Danielle Van Divort at deesteinberg@yahoo.com (Subject: Rogers 8th Grade event; please include contact info and student name in your email to make sure you are added to the contact list!)

VIPS UPDATE! Speaking of helping out, if you are interested in becoming a VIPS for Rogers Middle School and you no longer have an active VIPS badge for our school site, only have a badge for another site (previous elementary, etc.), or never have been processed as a VIPS with LBUSD, please email Karina Vasquez in the school’s front office at kvasquez@lbschools.net to start the application process. Dining for Dollars UPDATES Big thanks to all those who attended last night’s January event at CPK at the LB Marketplace! Rogers PTA also wants to give a shout out to George’s Greek Cafe, who sponsored the December event, and to those who attended and supported the event, which generated a generous donation of $200 toward student and school programming and events! Finally, looking ahead, next up on the Dining for Dollars calendar is Chipotle, which will be on Wednesday March 2nd. Watch this space for more details as the date approaches!
