PTA Board – General Info

Duties of each PTA Board position:

President: Runs Rogers PTA meetings, appoints positions, coordinates the work of officers, and signs legal documents and payment authorizations.

VP Ways and Means: Oversees fundraising event committees; brings information from these committees to Board meetings.

VP Membership: Oversees memberships and the membership drive.

VP Programming: Oversees non-fundraising events and committees, including staff luncheons.

Recording Secretary: Takes and records minutes of each meeting.

Treasurer: Manages financial accounts, budgets, and other financial matters.

Financial Secretary: Accepts, records, and deposits incoming monies from fundraising; provides records to the treasurer.

Auditor: Audits the books and financial records of the Rogers PTA semi-annually.

Historian: Keeps records of activities, achievements, and volunteer hours; assists the president in preparing these records for an annual report to the state PTA.

Corresponding Secretary (appointed): Prepares Rogers PTA correspondence and communications, including via email, newsletters, website, and social media.

Parliamentarian (appointed): Attends all meetings and advises on the parliamentary procedures, calls the first meeting of the Rogers PTA Nominating Committee, and chairs the Rogers PTA Bylaws Committee.

Community Partnerships Director (appointed): Oversees Rogers PTA banners policy; connects with local businesses to recruit banner sponsors; and coordinates banner design, printing, and maintenance. The banner program runs on an annual basis on a calendar year basis.
